Product description The Samson SM4 is a four-channel mixer able to handle microphones, instruments, line-level signals, and Bluetooth streaming. On its front panel, you’ll find a stereo 1/4" connection for line-level sources, stereo 3.5mm jack for MP3 players, USB port for digital wireless receivers and smartphone charging, and a pairing button for Bluetooth devices. Controls offered on the front panel include separate volume knobs for microphone and music signals, a knob for bass boosts/cuts, and a similar knob for treble. You’ll also note the Voiceover knob, which automatically ducks the music channels when detecting signal on the microphone channel.Speaking of the microphone channel, direct your attention to the rear of the receiver and you’ll see a balanced, combination XLR-1/4” jack for mic-level signal. Two RCA inputs accept signal from line-level devices. XLR outputs allow you to feed power amplifiers and speakers, as does a set of RCA connections, which provide unbalanced audio to the aforementioned destinations. They can also feed computer sound cards and hard disk recorders. Two more controls are offered here: Master Volume—for overall level output—and Voiceover Hold, which dictates the release time of the Voiceover knob, from 0.5 to three seconds. The SM4 supports Bluetooth 4.0 and A2DP, provides 15V phantom power, and ships with a rackmount kit and power adapter. - Key Features at a Glance
