This smartphone incorporates 2GB of RAM, and is powered by the 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 801 chipset, which consists of a quad-core Krait 400 CPU. This device has 16GB of storage and features a microSD slot for expanded storage capacity. The integrated micro-USB 3.0 interface allows you to connect the device for mass-storage purposes, and also serves as a charging port. Additionally, you can use the micro-USB port to connect an optional MHL adapter for outputting video to an external display.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 Active is endowed with an expansive 5.1" Super AMOLED screen, which is designed to produce bright images with robust color reproduction. The screen's 1920 x 1080 resolution enables you to view full HD content without pixel loss. For photo capturing and video chatting, this smartphone features a 2-megapixel front camera and a 16-megapixel rear camera. The rear camera's 1/2.6" sensor with f/2.2 aperture rivals allows you to capture quality imagery. Autofocus is also built-in and there's even an LED flash for taking pictures in low-light situations. On the video side, the rear camera allows you to capture detailed video at vivid UHD 4K resolution.

- The SM-G870A is the AT&T variant of the Galaxy S5 Active. The SM-G870A's LTE radio is tuned to frequencies that are most often used in the United States and North America. It can also be used in other parts of the world; however, LTE access may be limited or unsupported, depending on the network. To ensure this phone will work with your carrier please check to make sure the frequencies your carrier uses are supported by this phone. This phone is also AT&T branded and pre-loaded with AT&T firmware and applications. The phone was originally manufactured and locked for AT&T, but AT&T has since unlocked it for resale. The phone is new and not pre-owned, though the box has been opened in order to unlock the phone. The phone may be used on any compatible carrier; however, certain features like Wi-Fi tethering may not work on other carriers. The phone is also dependent on AT&T for software updates. - Android 6.0 Marshmallow
- The Android operating system integrates heavily with Google's services.
