Its Cassegrain design enables it to achieve a 450mm 35mm-equivalent focal length perspective within a sleek and lightweight lens design that is significantly smaller than a traditional 300mm lens.
An Ultra Multi Coating (UMC) has been applied to the eight-element-in-eight-groups lens construction, in order to minimize surface reflections and ghosting for more contrast-rich imagery. Additionally, the reflex lens design also helps to nearly eliminate chromatic aberrations for greater clarity and color accuracy around subject edges. It features a fixed f/6.3 aperture and manually focuses as closely as 3.6'. - Mirror lens designed specifically for APS-C-format Sony A mount DSLR cameras.
- Catadioptric system with Cassegrain design helps to reduce the overall size of the lens while still providing a 35mm-equivalent focal length of 450mm.
