Product description Hard Drives by Application: Which Is Best for You? Read More Designed for use as a startup drive, the 250GB 3D SATA III 2.5" Internal SSD from SanDisk provides faster system boots and helps enable faster gaming and graphics performance compared to a traditional HDD. It has a storage capacity of up to 250GB, is equipped with a SATA III 6 Gb/s interface, and fits into your system's 2.5" / 7mm drive bay. In terms of speed, this drive offers sequential write speeds of up to 525 MB/s, sequential read speeds of up to 550 MB/s, random writes of up to 81,000 IOPS, and random reads of up to 95,000 IOPS 3D NAND and nCache 2.0 technology.
With solid-state drive technology you benefit from load and access times for your files and programs that are faster than a conventional 7200 rpm hard drive. As SSDs have no moving parts, they are also more durable than traditional hard drives and are better protected against damage from drops and bumps. Having no moving parts also means that SSDs receive less wear and tear, as there are no read or write heads for the drive media to come into contact with. SSDs also help to deliver improved battery life and cooler operating temperatures.
SanDisk's 250GB 3D SATA III 2.5" Internal SSD offers their SSD Dashboard, which is available as a free download, and helps users to monitor their drive's health. Protection is provided by a limited 3-year warranty, or an endurance rating of up to 100 Terabytes Written (TBW), whichever comes first. General Features - Accelerate Your System up to 550 MB/s
- Achieve sequential read speeds of up to 550 MB/s for faster boot-up and improved system performance than a traditional HDD. Load and run applications, games, videos, and photos quickly so you can spend more time doing and less time waiting.
- Faster Burst Speeds with nCache 2.0 Technology
- Performance is optimized by writing everything to the drive's high-speed buffer before transferring it to the flash array. This architecture helps enable faster burst speeds.
- 3D NAND Technology
- This technology helps enhance drive endurance for improved reliability and lower usage for longer notebook battery life.
- Durable Solid State Design
- With no moving parts, the SanDisk Ultra 3D SSD is engineered to resist shock and vibration, helping to keep your data safe even if you drop your computer.
- SanDisk SSD Dashboard
- The SanDisk SSD Dashboard, available as a free download, gives you real-time visibility into how your drive is performing. It includes cloning software to help you set up your new drive, tools for disk analysis, and alerts for firmware updates.
