Product description Schmidt & Bender is a premium optics company based in Germany. Their history begins in 1957 with the development and manufacturing of riflescopes for hunting by moonlight. Variable power sighting systems, like the 3-12x50 Classic Riflescope offer hunters and shooters a tremendous amount of flexibility. By being able to dial up, or down, your zoom power you are assured that a clean shot can be taken even if your quarry moves from brush into the open field. You definitely do not want to be stuck at 16x when there's a charging Cape Buffalo 20 yds away. Switching to a lower power on your ocular will re-establish your position as the hunter by allowing for rapid target acquisition, and thereby keeping you and your comrades out of harms way. Your sight picture will register quickly and easily thanks to the 3.7 (94mm) of eyerelief. This scope sports a large 50mm objective, for a bright as daytime sight picture, even during twilight. The optics are superb, so not only is your image bright, it is also rich with detail and crystal clear. Dependability and repeatability are two key factors in any scope purchase. The fine mechanics and tight tolerances of all the Schmidt & Bender scopes are truly world class and are a benchmark to which all others can be compared. To use a riflescope with your firearm, you'll need a mounting base and mounting rings in addition to the scope itself. Bases attach to your firearm and rings attach to your scope. By affixing the scope mounted rings to the rifle mounted base you create a reliable, accurate, and secure sighting system. Proper spacing of the rings, as well as the ring height should be considered to ensure a proper line of sight can be established. This will maximize the value of your investment, and enhance your shooting experience.
