Product description Schmidt & Bender is a premium optics company based in Germany. Their history begins in 1957 with the development and manufacturing of riflescopes for hunting by moonlight. Since then, they have focused exclusively on designing and producing extremely high-quality sighting systems that hunters and tactical marksmen rely on to deal with the most difficult of lighting and environmental conditions. Successful missions often depend upon your ability to improvise-adapt-overcome. Consider the extreme savings, obstacles & hardships endured towards attaining success: when such efforts boil down to the moment of a single shot determining whether a life is saved or a trophy is bagged, excuses are irrelevant. When greater precision over longer distances is required, higher magnification is one feature to look for in upgrading your firearm's sighting system. This 4-16x50 Police Marksman II LP Riflescope is a current favorite amongst precision shooters who find themselves deployed in a variety of environments on a regular basis. With this fine sighting optic mounted to your receiver you can be assured that you will have the power you need for those longer shots, and the flexibility for working in more urbanized areas. Hunters will also find this flexibility useful when their quarry moves from dense brush and out into the open field. The statuesque design of this scope incorporates a very stable 34mm main tube brilliantly machined from a single piece of aluminum alloy. This state of the art design ensures repeatability with more surface area to hold more securely in your rings. World class highly refined optics deliver a sight picture above and beyond the call of duty. High-tech coatings are employed upon precision ground lens elements that are designed by some of the worlds finest optical engineers. When you sight through a Schmidt & Bender scope, the rich contrast, accurate color and fine details you could never see before become apparent in an instant. The target becomes yours for the taking; all you have to do now is squeeze the trigger. Unique to all PM II LP scopes is the color coded elevation knob that delivers a total of 56 minutes of adjustment. The color on the knob changes when you adjust past the initial 28 minutes of adjustment, which gives you a fast read when you're adjusting your knobs under stressful conditions. To use a riflescope with your firearm, you'll need a mounting base and mounting rings in addition to the scope itself. Bases attach to your firearm and rings attach to your scope. By affixing the scope mounted rings to the rifle mounted base you create a reliable, accurate, and secure sighting system. Proper spacing of the rings, as well as the ring height should be considered to ensure a proper line of sight can be established. This will maximize the value of your investment, and enhance your shooting experience. - Parallax adjustment is located in a third turret on the left side. Distances from 11 yds (10 m) to infinity can be compensated for without removing your eye from the scope.
- Color Coded Elevation Knob
- One complete turn on the windage knobs corrects for 28 minutes of elevation. At this juncture, the color coding on the knob changes to yellow giving the shooter instantaneous recognition of the current adjustment range setting. This helps to minimize or eliminate the situation of getting lost when many turns of the knob are executed under stressful situations.
- Illuminated P3 Mil-Dot Reticle
- The Illuminated P3 Mil-Dot reticle offers the ability to accurately calculate distances by using the dots positioned along the cross hairs in the sight picture. First developed by the USMC, this system has become the standard reticle for tactical shooters. Four heavy non tapered posts direct your eye toward the center and the fine cross hairs intersect at dead center so you can establish your point of impact quickly and efficiently.
At the intersection of the cross hairs, a small x section can be illuminated to assist you in gaining sight acquisition under difficult or dark conditions. There are 11 levels of illumination to choose from, for balancing your sight picture against the ambient lighting conditions.
First focal plane positioning of the reticle ensures consistent shot placement and accurate ranging calculations across the entire zoom range.
