Successful missions often depend upon your ability to improvise-adapt-overcome. Consider the extreme savings, obstacles & hardships endured towards attaining success: when such efforts boil down to the moment of a single shot determining whether a life is saved or a trophy is bagged, excuses are irrelevant. Surgically precise shot placement across extremely long distances (2000 yds) can be successfully negotiated with several larger caliber rifles (50 BMG, 338 Lapua, etc). Your ability to accurately range these distances, and successfully place a shot within a few MOA is contingent on your proficiency as a shooter and the capabilities of your gear. While a milling reticle can enhance your abilities somewhat, certain crucial facts need to be addressed if you are going to achieve success in this long range arena. Basically, if you can't see it, you can't hit it. The Schmidt & Bender 5-25x56 Police Marksman II LP Riflescope ensures that you can see, and see clearly, over great distances & under adverse conditions. This scope features very high magnification to enlarge the target in your sight picture to levels you can work with safely & responsibly. You'll find the image in your scope to be extremely clear, thanks to state of the art lens construction and coatings. Your line of sight will be bright, sharp, and full of details not seen when looking through a scope of lesser quality. The 56mm objective lens delivers an astounding level of light transmission, a necessary feature for when the sun starts to head toward the horizon. Repeatability is a major issue for all precision shooters. The rugged 34mm main tube adds a notable level of rugged dependability and stability to the equation. A better hold into your rings is possible due to the added surface area, thereby protecting your zero from recoil and field abuse. Shot to shot repeatable accuracy makes all the difference when the stakes and stress levels are high, and you're in unfamiliar surroundings. You need every advantage to be on your side. It is time to stack the deck in your favor with the 5-25x56 Police Marksman II. This scope features a color coded elevation knob that delivers a total of 56 minutes of adjustment. The color on the knob changes when you adjust past the initial 28 minutes of adjustment, which gives you a fast read when you're adjusting your knobs under stressful conditions. To use a riflescope with your firearm, you'll need a mounting base and mounting rings in addition to the scope itself. Bases attach to your firearm and rings attach to your scope. By affixing the scope mounted rings to the rifle mounted base you create a reliable, accurate, and secure sighting system. Proper spacing of the rings, as well as the ring height should be considered to ensure a proper line of sight can be established. This will maximize the value of your investment, and enhance your shooting experience. - Parallax adjustment is located in a third turret on the left side. Distances from 11 yds (10 m) to infinity can be compensated for without removing your eye from the scope.
- Color Coded Elevation Knob
- One complete turn on the windage knobs corrects for 28 minutes of elevation. At this juncture, the color coding on the knob changes to yellow giving the shooter instantaneous recognition of the current adjustment range setting. This helps to minimize or eliminate the situation of getting lost when many turns of the knob are executed under stressful situations.
- Illuminated P3 Mil-Dot Reticle
- The Illuminated P3 Mil-Dot reticle offers the ability to accurately calculate distances by using the dots positioned along the cross hairs in the sight picture. First developed by the USMC, this system has become the standard reticle for tactical shooters. Four heavy non tapered posts direct your eye toward the center and the fine cross hairs intersect at dead center so you can establish your point of impact quickly and efficiently.
At the intersection of the cross hairs, a small x section can be illuminated to assist you in gaining sight acquisition under difficult or dark conditions. There are 11 levels of illumination to choose from, for balancing your sight picture against the ambient lighting conditions.
First focal plane positioning of the reticle ensures consistent shot placement and accurate ranging calculations across the entire zoom range.
