Product description The matte gray MK2 Microphone Capsule from Schoeps comes as a matched pair, and has a flat frequency response for frontal sound incidence. This yields a very natural sound when recordings are made within the reverberation radius, where the direct sound (frontal incidence) predominates over the reverberant sound (random angles of incidence).
This capsule is often used for acoustical measurement, an application for which it has gained a considerable reputation. Note: This capsule is delivered with a hand signed Certificate from the factory. Matching is of frequency response and sensitivity within exceptionally low tolerances. There is some directivity at high frequencies due to the physics of sound wavelengths. Thus even with an omnidirectional microphone, it still matters which way the capsule is aimed. - Very flat frequency response
- Corrected for a free sound field
