Product description Capture the beauty and variety of sea life at depths up to 328' with your Nikon D810 digital SLR camera in this Sea & Sea MDX-D810 Underwater Housing. A built-in leak sensor alerts you immediately in the unlikely event of a breach in the waterproof seal. Dual ports enable the connection of optional fiber-optic cables for attaching external strobes. As an alternative, an optional 2-pin connector for sync cords is available. The housing provides access to virtually all camera functions via mechanical levers, dials, and push-button controls.
The D810's built-in flash can be activated or disabled. Major controls, including levers and buttons, are equipped with luminous stickers for better visibility when you're in dark regions of the underwater world. Plus, the buttons are angled for ease of use. With both hands on the ergonomic grips, you can reach such controls as the main command dial and the sub-command dial for manual photography, as well as video controls.
The housing comes with a 0.5x optical viewfinder. Other interchangeable viewfinders are optional (sold separately). These include the VF180 and VF45 1.2x viewfinders, which increase magnification by 1.2x, allowing you to see the entire field of view. The MDX-D810 is constructed from a solid aluminum-alloy block with an anodized finish, making it highly corrosion/abrasion-resistant.
The housing ships without a required lens port, and accepts a series of interchangeable ports from Sea & Sea. Various ports are available to accommodate macro, wide-angle, and zoom lenses. For full compatibility information, see System Chart.
The housing is equipped with an HDMI output, enabling you to view images and video on an optional external monitor tucked safely into its own underwater housing. There's also a tripod mount, which is centrally located on the bottom of the MDX-D810. A quick shoe makes the camera easy to install and remove from the enclosure. Construction Details -

Strobe Connection and Use -
- Configured with 2 ports for optional fiber-optic cables, which enable attachment of external strobes
- As an alternative, an optional 2-pin connector for N-type sync cords is available and can be attached via housing's accessory port
- Compatible with Optical YS Converter/N1, which also lets you connect external flash units
- YS Converter/N1 changes camera's TTL signal into a light signal and allows for both TTL and manual strobe exposure using Fiber-Optic Cable II
- YS Converter/N provides yet another flash option, connecting strobes via sync cords
- Camera's built-in flash can be activated and deactivated when accessory light-shielding plate is not in use
- Included light-shielding plate blocks camera's flash so it will not expose your subject, leaving just the external flash(es) to do the illuminating in order to reduce backscatter, glare, and hard shadows

- When focus/zoom dial is pulled out, gear inside housing will move outward to allow for lenses with large diameters to be easily mounted

- Redesigned shutter, AF mode, AF-ON, and movie-recording levers are more ergonomically shaped
- Multi-selector positioned at right side rear, making it easily accessible while holding grip and operating camera
