Product description The Seasonic Electronics Prime Ultra 850W Platinum Power Supply is designed to provide up to 850W of power to desktops with powerful video cards and a plethora of drives and peripherals. The modular design of this power supply means that you only must connect the power cables that you need, so you don't have to deal with a mass of unnecessary wires.
All the included cables feature gold-plated connectors that are designed to help improve connectivity, and are constructed to be flat, in order to help with airflow and make cable management easier.
Additional and notable features include an 80 PLUS Platinum certification, which provides 92% power efficiency at 50% system load. Plus, Premium Hybrid Fan Control, which is designed to keep fan noise to the lowest possible level. To this end, the Prime Ultra 850W will go completely fanless until the PSU is under 40% load or more. - Prime Ultra Improvements
- Some unique features of the Prime Ultra line include 180-degree SATA connectors, a SATA 3.3 adapter that supports the "Power Disable" (PWDIS) feature of newer, high-capacity hard drives, and the inclusion of a PSU tester.
- 80 PLUS Platinum
- The higher the level of efficiency of the power supply, the less power gets wasted in the form of excess heat. The 80 PLUS Platinum certification provides greater than 90, 92, and 89% efficiency at 20, 50, and 100% operating loads, respectively.
- Fluid Dynamic Fan Bearing
- Fluid Dynamic Bearing (FDB) fans are designed to take advantage of the impact absorbance effects of oil. They are reliable and generate considerably less operating noise and heat than ball bearing fans. The lubrication of the bearing surface reduces friction and vibration and therefore lowers overall power consumption. Due to the effortless, quieter rotations and its durable construction, this reliable fan technology also increases the lifespan of the fan.
- Cable-Free Connection Design
- This design feature from Seasonic's engineers has changed how the back panel and PCB are connected. Instead of typical cabling, they are connected by a copper plate in this power supply. This change is designed to lower the chance of production errors during manual insertion, as well as helping to improve output power quality.
- Micro Tolerance Load Regulation
- This design helps to keep the output voltage within a very tight range, achieving under 0.5% load regulation. This equates to a stability that is optimal for high-performance computer systems.
