Product description Sky-Watcher USA partnered with Starlight Xpress and assembled the Esprit 80 ED APO Refractor Telescope with Trius Camera Kit to give beginner astroimagers a complete and highly portable rig that delivers outstanding performance. The kit includes the fast 80mm f/5 triplet apochromatic refractor telescope with all its accessories, including a field flattener and the Starlight Xpress Trius monochrome imaging camera. The Trius comes complete with a Lodestar guide camera and a seven-position filter wheel. This kit's compact size and included OTA and camera cases make it easy to bring to remote locations, and with its Vixen-style dovetail plate it only requires a small- to medium-sized equatorial mount and a tripod to begin capturing stunning images of the Moon, planets, and bright deep-sky objects. - Esprit ED APO 80mm f/5 Refractor Telescope The Esprit ED APO 80mm Telescope from Sky-Watcher is a 3-element refractor telescope designed for astrophotographers. The optical system features apochromatic extra-low dispersion (ED) glass and fully multicoated optics. A 2-element threaded field-flattener corrects distortion that can occur at the edges of the field of view. This combination makes astrophotographic images clear and sharp, with high-contrast and true-color transmission, from one edge of the field of view to the other. With a focal ratio of f/5, this fast telescope is well-suited for astrophotography. The 2" rack-and-pinion Helinear Track focusing system allows you to bring celestial objects into precise focus with virtually no shift. The focuser features tracks above and below the focus tube. This gives the mechanism two points of contact, keeping focuser level even with a camera mounted on it. The Esprit comes with a 90° star diagonal with dielectric coatings. These coatings provide better than 99% light reflection. The telescope also comes with a 8x50 right-angle erector finderscope, a Cannon 48mm T-Ring photo adapter, and a foam-lined aluminum case.

UPC: 050234114004 - Starlight Xpress Trius SX-42 Monochrome Camera Imaging Kit The Starlight Xpress Trius SX-42 Monochrome Camera Imaging Kit was assembled as part of a joint effort between Sky-Watcher USA and Starlight Xpress in honor of Sky-Watcher's 20th Anniversary and specifically designed to address all the normal confusion new imagers have when setting up their first system. The camera system's 17mm back-focus distance (±1mm) is matched for all Sky-Watcher correctors and simply threads onto the corrector for fast and easy setup. This kit includes Starlight Xpress' Trius 694 monochrome imaging camera, their Lodestar X2 monochrome guide camera, plus a seven-position filter wheel equipped with a built-in off-axis guider (OAG). With low power consumption and a compact lightweight design, this imaging kit is the ideal starter rig for anyone interested in astroimaging.
- Trius SX-42 Camera
- The Trius features a 6MP Sony ExView 694 monochrome sensor to capture your images with a high-speed USB 2.0 connection to your computer that transfers the images in about 5 seconds. The camera housing is outfitted with a USB hub to power peripherals like the included guide camera and filter wheel to limit the amount of cables and reduce tangle or snag hazards. To help keep the system cool during use, the housing is filled with dry argon gas with an integrated fan that can reduce the camera's temperature as much as 104°F (40°C).
- Lodestar X2 Monochrome Autoguider
- When used in conjunction with autoguiding computer software, the Loadstar Autoguider will monitor the position of a set guide star during long exposure astrophotography or imaging sessions to ensure the mount is accurately tracking the subject so images remain crisp and sharp. If a deviation is detected, the software automatically sends the necessary tracking corrections to your mount. An autoguider is a must-have piece of gear for any astrophotographer. The Lodestar can be powered by the Trius' USB hub and controlled by the computer it is connected to.
- Filter Wheel
- An indispensable imaging accessory, a filter wheel allows you to change filters without having to touch your gear, unmount or disassemble your imaging system, or otherwise touch your mount or telescope setup. The whee's drive system changes filters quietly and without vibration. With seven filter cells available, you are able to use your primary colored filters, plus special ones like a narrow band, nebulae, and clear focusing filters. To make this as easy as possible for beginner imagers, the wheel accepts standard 1.25" eyepiece filters so you won't have to go out and get all new filters as you move into a new part of you astronomy hobby. The wheel is USB powered, so you can use the Trius' USB hub to power and control it.An OAG is included, allowing you to use the filter wheel independent of the Trius for observation purposes without losing the convenient auto-correcting functionality of the Trius' guide scope.
