Product description The Softube 4ms Spectral Multiband Resonator (SMR) is a resonant bandpass filter expansion module for the company's Modular virtual synthesizer plug-in. Faithfully emulating the hardware and firmware of the original 4ms SMR, the software works like a normal six-band graphic EQ but with the frequency of each channel being treated like a note in a scale, and the six bands forming a chord. It can be used to process audio as an oscillator bank for additive synthesis, a vocoder, a phaser, a quantizer, a stereo-widener, a CV source/arpeggiator/sequencer, a remix tool for extracting triggers from recorded material, and more. The 4ms Spectral Multiband Resonator's filters are locked to a twenty-note scale displayed in the center of the unit via the LED ring. The notes and the distance (interval) between each note change can be selected by spinning the Rotate knob, allowing you to create beautiful chords, ethereal tones, eerie ambiance, and frequency sweeps across the spectrum. The plug-in comes with over 75 presets to help spark your creativity right out of the box. - Innovative multiband, resonant filter for processing audio
- Works like a normal six-band graphic EQ: six frequency band-pass filters are mixed together using sliders
- Frequency of each channel is treated like a note in a scale, and the six bands form a chord
- Spin the Rotate knob and the "notes" circle around the 20-note scale
- Note scales include Western scales, alternative tunings, esoteric Gamelan, microtonal scales
- Variable Resonance / Q changes the ringing, or width of the bands
- Adjust spread and distance (interval) between each note change
- Flexible control from external modules via triggers for up/down motion, CV inputs for sequencing and scale selection
- Morph control automatically cross-fades between frequencies
- Variable Slew function allows rhythmic clocks to drive the SMR as a variable-speed, evolving resonant filter
- Officially licensed from 4ms
- Low CPU usage so you can add a large number of SMR units to your patches
- Requires Softube Modular virtual synthesizer plug-in
