Product description Available for download, Softube's Harmonics is a dynamic distortion plug-in that also lends harmonic excitement to your guitars, basses, vocals, drums, and instrument busses. What makes it dynamic? Softube's Dynamic Transient Control technology, which tracks the performance of the input signal and applies any changes in level to the distortion circuit itself. This results in a tone that naturally saturates at louder levels, doing so in a manner commensurate with the analog gear of yesteryear. Dynamic Transient Control is assigned to knob on the left of the GUI. The more you turn this knob clockwise, the more your original dynamics are preserved. Turn the knob counter-clockwise however, and you'll achieve more of a sustained, compressed sound. Five different models of distortion are on hand including: Solo, Transformer, Tube, and Master. Each model has a different timbre, the specifics of which can be controlled with the Drive and Character knobs. Character shapes the tone, while Drive pushes the amount of harmonic distortion. Onto to the filtering section, which gives you high- and low-cut filters, both with three different slopes. You can position these filters before or after the actual distortion circuit for further tonal shaping. A Dry/Wet knob allows you to blend unprocessed signal back into the chain. An input fader lets you drive the incoming level harder or softer into the distortion module, depending on how you push it. An output fader controls your output levels. If you want to use Harmonics to achieve a subtle, glue-like character, switch the meter into THD mode. In THD mode, the meter can help you to better see the amount of delicate, complex sonic excitement being introduced to the mix, little by little. This distortion/exciter plug-in is compatible with Mac and Windows platforms, and works in AU, VST, and AAX formats. Harmonics is also fully compatible with Console 1 controllers. - Key Features at a Glance
