Product description The SSL XL9000 K Series from Softube is a plug-in for the Console 1 virtual mixing platform offering the hyper-modern, large, and wide sound of the Solid State Logic XL 9000 K recording console. Revered by many as one of the best large-format consoles ever created, the 9000 K utilizes Super Analog technology offering extreme bandwidth, minimal phase shift, and super-low distortion that translates into deep low end and extended highs.
With virtually no distortion of its own, the Softube channel also includes a model of SSL's VHD (Variable Harmonic Distortion) circuit offering controls for Drive and Character. The Drive knob controls the amount of distortion, while the Character knob moves the added distortion from 2nd order (tube-like) to 3rd order (transistor-like) or any blend in-between.
Also included with the 9000 K are the extended gate and compressor options. The gate unit offers Punch and Sustain knobs to control the range and hold levels, which provide more control when compared to the 4000 E model. The compressor unit is offered in two flavors, Peak and RMS. The peak circuit focuses on the transients of the sound, while the RMS is an average loudness with a softer knee and can sound more musical. Note: This software is a plug-in upgrade for the Console 1 mixing platform. This software will not work without Softube's Console 1. -
