Product description The X-Rack E Series Dynamic Module, XR418 from Solid State Logic is a compressor/limiter and expander/gate module based on the classic SL 4000 E console channel strip, and requires the use of an X-Rack or Mynx enclosure. Designed for users of Digital Audio Workstations and other audio/post applications, the module can be combined with any number of other modules to achieve a scalable system that features the legendary SSL sonic signature. The side chain utilizes a true RMS converter for measuring the input signal, while the gain element is an all discrete design identical to the Class A VCA chip used in the original channel strip. The compressor also contains an option to defeat the over-easy curve and to use a linear release instead. This results in a compressor with 3 distinct voices, each with its own musical character. Note: Module requires an X-Rack or Mynx chassis to function - Dynamics module for SSL's X-Rack system or Mynx enclosure
- Comprises a compressor/limiter and an expander/gate with 3 distinct voicings
- Based on the 611E channel strip found in the various incarnations of the legendary SSL 4000 E Series consoles
- Gain element is an all discrete design, Class A VCA replication
- Features an XLR input on the rear panel for sidechaining applications
- Two (or more) Dynamics sections can be linked using the sidechain control signal- whichever section has the most gain reduction will control the other
