Product description How to Choose a Soundbar System Read More Add big, rich sound to your TV with the Sonos PLAYBASE Television Speaker Base. The base supports TVs weighing up to 77 lb and has 10 built-in drivers, each with their own class-D digital amplifier, to add a new dimension to your viewing experience. Six mid-range drivers combine with three tweeters and a woofer to provide deep bass, clear highs, crisp dialogue, and wide sonic range to better immerse you in your movies, shows, sports, and music.
Setup is simple, with one cable for power and an optical cable to connect to your TV. Streaming is accomplished over Wi-Fi and is controlled by the free Sonos app for Android and iOS. An Ethernet port gives you the option for a wired connection to your home network.
The PLAYBASE can be used on its own or expanded into a wireless 5.1-channel surround sound system with the addition of the Sonos SUB and two PLAY:1 rear units. The configurations can be optimized with Trueplay, found on the iOS version of the Sonos app, which analyzes your room and adjusts your speakers for best results. - Wide Compatibility
- Since the PLAYBASE connects directly to your TV, it'll work with whatever else connects to your TV, like cable boxes, gaming consoles, satellite systems, optical players, and more, along with popular streaming sources
- Multi-Room Compatible
- The Playbase connects via Wi-Fi to your other Sonos products, so you can play the same audio everywhere or choose what you want to hear on a room-by-room basis
- Speech Enhancement
- When turned on, the Speech Enhancement function reduces loud sound effects while maintaining dialogue volume.
- Night Sound
- The Night Sound function works at low volumes and boosts quiet sounds while reducing loud ones, for more even loudness without disturbing others
- Touch Controls
- The PLAYBASE has capacitive buttons that let you control volume, track, and play/pause
- LED Indicators
- LEDs show component status and whether your system is muted
- Audio Controls
- Adjust treble, bass, and loudness from the Sonos app
- Autoplay
- Lets you choose whether or not TV audio will begin playback automatically
- Software Updates
- Your PLAYBASE receives software updates through the Sonos app to ensure it has the latest features
