Product description The black 32GB HDR-PJ540 Full HD Handycam Camcorder with Built-in Projector from Sony captures Full HD 1920x1080 video at 24p and 60p, as well as 9.2MP still images. It features a 1/5.8" Exmor R CMOS sensor and a wide-angle Sony G zoom lens with 30x optical zoom plus 60x Clear Image digital zoom, and provides 32GB of internal flash memory for up to 8 hours of video.
The camcorder delivers smooth shots even on the move with its Balanced Optical SteadyShot image stabilization technology with Active Mode. For enhanced connectivity and control, built-in Wi-Fi with NFC support lets you use your smartphone or tablet to control the camera, as well as wirelessly transfer files to your mobile device for sharing, and back up data on your computer.
The HDR-PJ540 includes a built-in 25 lumen projector that allows you to project video at up to a 100" diagonal size without having to connect to a playback device. You can also monitor and playback footage from the camcorder on the 3.0" Clear Photo LCD display with 460K dot resolution. For increased flexibility, you can choose to simultaneously record video in high-quality AVCHD or web-optimized MP4 files, and the built-in microphone lets you capture 5.1 channel Dolby Digital sound.
A built-in USB 2.0 cable provides a connection to your computer for charging or file transfer and fits conveniently into the hand strap, so it's out of the way until you need it. A rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack, USB AC adapter, micro-HDMI cable, and a USB connection support cable come included. - 1920x1080 24p/60p Video and 9.2MP Still Images
- Capture cinematic high definition 1920 x 1080 videos at 24p or 60p, and take high quality 9.2MP still images. Sony's back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor is designed for compact cameras and camcorders. The sensor relocates the photo diodes above the support circuitry, which maximizes the light gathering area per pixel and achieves better results in low light conditions.
- Built-in 25 Lumen Projector
- The built-in projector features a maximum 25 lumen output and screen coverage of up to 100" diagonal. Project your footage directly from the camera to view your day's shooting, or share memories without crowding everyone around the LCD screen. The micro-HDMI input allows you to connect external devices that have an HDMI output and use the camcorder's projector to display content.
- Balanced Optical SteadyShot Image Stabilization
- On standard Optical SteadyShot camcorders a single "shift lens" is moved in the optical block to offset camera shake. Balanced Optical SteadyShot with Active Mode moves the entire optical block at once, maintaining the integrity of the optical path and reducing shake. It also reduces vignetting (light fall off towards the edge of a scene) and lowers distortion in videos and still photos.
- NFC / Wi-Fi Control, Transfer, & Data Backup
- Built-in NFC and Wi-Fi lets you turn your mobile phone and/or tablet into a remote control/viewing device. You can also transfer your files to your mobile device wirelessly for instant sharing, back up your data on your PC, and even enjoy your videos and photos on a TV without wires.

- The lens has a 35mm equivalent of 26.8mm at the wide end of the focal range. Shoot distant subjects with a 30x optical zoom plus 60x Clear Image digital zoom. With Clear Image Zoom the powerful processor compares patterns found in adjacent pixels and creates new pixels to match selected patterns, resulting in higher-quality images. Clear Image Zoom doubles optical zoom for closer photos and video.
- 3.0" Clear Photo LCD Display
- The 3.0" Clear Photo LCD features 460K dot resolution for sharp, bright, vivid images, enabling you to change settings to best represent the scene.
- 5.1 Channel Mic with Audio Record Controls
- Dolby Digital 5.1 channel recording captures active sounds coming from all directions, so you can experience your home movies the way you experienced them while recording. Advanced sound features such as Auto Wind Noise Reduction and Premium Closer Voice make it even easier to get high-quality sound in various situations.
- 7 Picture Effects for Video and Still Photos
- Use Picture Effects to add expression and heighten the mood of your videos and photos. Seven picture effects (Toy Camera, Pop Color, Soft High Key, Partial Color, Retro Photo, High Contrast Monochrome, and Posterization) are available in both photo and video modes. Shooting with these special modes will provide you an easy way to instantly transform your memories without any post editing software needed.
- AVCHD and MP4 Dual Recording
- Record video in the AVCHD and MP4 formats for high-quality or easy transfer and sharing. For the greatest flexibility, you can even record AVCHD and MP4 formats simultaneously. AVCHD provides premium video that can be enjoyed on large screen HDTVs and is ideal for capturing precious memories at special occasions, family vacations and other moments you want to treasure for a lifetime. MP4 is great for those moments that you want to quickly share on your social networks or store on the cloud.
- Intelligent Auto Mode
- Intelligent Auto mode goes a step beyond traditional auto modes by analyzing your shot and then automatically selecting the appropriate settings from ten distinct scene modes and wind noise reduction. There are 60 different combinations possible: Portrait, Baby, Tripod, Backlight, Landscape, Spotlight, Twilight, Macro, and Low light.

I had a problem with Paperport loading. Through the remote efforts of a Tech was able to get back online, however, "settings" are only listed 1 - 5 with no action listed as was 'visibly' available, (i.e. Scan both sides, Black and White, Color, etc.)
