Product description This Sony Recorder Bundle includes the AXS-R7 4K/2K external recorder and one AXS-A series 512GB storage capacity media card. The AXS-R7 16-bit linear recorder works with the PMW-F55 and F5 cameras to deliver continuous 4K RAW at up to 120 fps and 60 fps respectively. It also captures 2K RAW at up to 240 fps for playback with 10x super slow motion. The recorder also offers up to 30 seconds of cache recording while in standby mode. In addition to the 16-bit linear RAW in 2K and 4K, the recorder supports the X-OCN recording format. For operating convenience, it features dual media slots that accept the Sony's slim AXS-A series S48 and S24 media cards. The included black trim S48 512GB memory card can read and write at a sustained speed of 4.8 Gb/s. - AXS-R7 External 4K RAW Recorder for PMW-F55 & F5 CineAlta Digital Cinema Cameras The Sony AXS-R7 4K RAW Recorder seamlessly attaches to the high-end PMW-F55 and F5 CineAlta cameras, speeding up the 4K production workflow. This 16-bit linear recorder offers 4K RAW recording up to 120 fps and 60 fps for the PMW-F55 and F5 cameras respectively. For shooting at higher frame rates, the recorder captures 2K RAW at up to 240 fps, for playback with 10x super slow motion. This recorder also offers 4K RAW/X-OCN cache recordings up to 30 seconds while in standby mode (target storage time at 23.98p, approximately). This AXS-R7 recorder is compatible with the high-speed slim AXS A series memory cards (available separately). It features dual memory card slots for extra security and to extend recording times. Built to work in challenging field conditions, the recorder comes with a rugged, all-metal casing with robust attachment to the camera body and a sealed ventilation system that is dust- and splash-resistant. It is suitable for feature film, television commercial, reality, documentary, and wildlife cinematographers who require continuous, full-resolution 4K RAW recording from their F55 and F5 cameras.
- X-OCN 4K/2K Capture Platform
- In addition to the RAW format, AXS-R7 recorder also supports the X-OCN (eXtended tonal range Original Camera Negative) capture format. This format has two recording modes; X-OCN ST (Standard) and X-OCN LT (Light). X-OCN ST captures 4K 24p at 660 Mb/s and X-OCN LT offers efficient data rates for smaller and more manageable files, reducing cost and improving workflow speed.
- High Speed 4K RAW Capture
- The AXSR7 recorder captures continuous 16-bit 4K RAW at up to 120 fps and 60 fps from the PMW-F55 and F5 cameras respectively. When you play back at 24p, it produces a dramatic 5x super slow motion effect. For shooting at higher frame rates, the recorder captures 2K RAW at up to 240 fps from the PMW-F55 and F5, for playback with 10x super slow motion. This portable memory recorder is not compatible with the HXRIFR5 interface unit.
- 30-Second RAW Cache Recording
- The AXS-R7 recorder offers RAW/X-OCN cache recording at 23.98p for approximately up to 30 seconds while in standby mode, an important feature in documentary or wildlife production where capturing spontaneous action is required. The cache recording time varies based on the frame rate and recording mode.
- From Power Up to Record in 0.5 Seconds
- When the unit is powered on by pushing the REC button, the 'Quick Rec' mode gets activated. This mode accelerates the power on process and the recorder starts recording in about 0.5 seconds.
- Durable Dust- and Splash-Resistant Metal Design
- The AXS-R7 has a rugged, durable metal body built to work in challenging field conditions. It is dust- and splash-resistant, with electric parts and the ventilation shaft separated by a metal filter to prevent the entry of dust and water. Connection between the camera and the recorder is secured through a large quick-release top bracket that accepts four widely spaced 1/4" screws.
- Dual Memory Card Slots Support High-Speed Slim AXS A Series
- The AXS-R7 recorder features dual memory card slots and works with sleek, high-capacity, high-speed AXSM A series S48 memory cards (1TB and 512GB), which are designed to support the write speeds required for 4K RAW/X-OCN 120 fps recordings (only when used with the PMW-F55 camera). It also works with the AXS A series S24 slim cards (blue trim, 1TB, 512GB, and 256GB capacity) for recording 4K RAW up to 60 fps and 2K RAW up to 240 fps. By using Sony's free RAW Viewer application, the recorded files can easily be played back and checked on a PC or MAC.
- 512GB AXS Memory A-Series Card Capture demanding 4K and 2K 16-bit linear raw video using the 512GB AXS Memory A-Series Card from Sony. This card has a capacity of 512GB, delivers write speeds of 4.8 Gb/s, and is also able to capture High Frame Rate (HFR) video up to 120 fps in 4K and up to 240 fps in 2K.
Sony's AXS Memory A-Series Card is designed for use with their CineAlta PMW-F55, CineAlta PMW-F5, PXW-FS7, and NEX-FS700 cameras, plus their AXS-R7 4K Portable Memory Recorder, AXS-R5 2K / 4K Raw Recorder, and AXS-CR1 USB 3.0 AXS Memory Card Reader using the AXS Memory Card Adapter.

- Record up to 60 minutes of 4K raw and 235 minutes of 2K raw video at 23.98 fps, up to 48 minutes of 4K raw and 189 minutes of 2K raw video at 29.97 fps, and up to 23 minutes of 4K raw and 94 minutes of 2K raw video at 60 fps.
- 4K & 2K Raw HFR Recordings
- The AXS Memory A Series records High Frame Rate (HFR) video with up to 48 minutes of 2K raw at 120 fps, up to 31 min at 180 fps, up to 24 min at 240 fps, and up to 22 min of 4K raw at 120 fps.
- Slim and Small Card Design
- The AXS-A512S48 is smaller and lighter than previous generation AXS cards and have dimensions similar to SxS cards.
