Product description Featuring the ability to play high-resolution audio from USB connections—or even over Bluetooth via Sony's proprietary LDAC technology—the CAS-1 is a desktop audio system with an integrated headphone amp. It's capable of driving a total of 40W RMS to its dual speakers, both of which are configured with 0.6" soft-dome tweeters and 2.4" cone-type woofers.
The system accepts USB type-A and type-B connections, allowing you to play MP3s, WAVs, FLACs, AACs, and more. Should you wish to stream audio straight from your phone or device via Bluetooth, NFC pairing is supported. Furthermore, the CAS-1 can pair with up to nine devices at any one time. Its control panel is relatively streamlined, with a large volume control front and center, and on/off button located at the top of the amplifier, and a selector button for switching between USB type-A, USB type-B, and Bluetooth wireless connections. An on-board LED alerts you to your specific volume at any time. A remote is included with the CAS-1, as are the relevant speaker cables, power cable, AC Adapter, Mounting Spikes, and more. - Wireless Streaming
- Wirelessly connect mobile devices to the CAS-1 over Bluetooth.
- LDAC Streaming Technology
- Sony's proprietary LDAC technology aims to stream high-resolution audio over Bluetooth without down-sampling.
- High-Resolution Audio
- This system can support DSD files, as well as audio playback at higher-than-CD qualities.
- Proprietary Up-Scaling Technology
- Sony's proprietary DSEE HX technology up-scales conventional audio sound sources to higher resolution.
- S-Master HX Amplifier
- Developed for high-resolution audio, Sony's proprietary S-Master HX amplifier aims to provide low distortion and noise levels across a wide range of frequencies.
- Dual Amplifiers
- This system includes independent amplifiers for speakers and headphones.
- Extended Bass
- A customized bass-reflex port allows the speakers to reproduce bass faithfully.
- On-Board Isolation
- Brass spikes elevate speakers to dampen high frequencies, fix woofer-tweeter route discrepancy, and minimize comb filtering
- Accurate Playback at Any Volume
- Technologies such as Pulse Height Volume and Low Volume Mode help ensure a dynamic audio response at any output level.
- Supports Multiple Headphone Types
- The built-in headphone amplifier can drive the sound for both in-ear and over-ear headphones, with an on-board DAC adjusting output signals for a more isolating headphone listening experience. An on-board gain toggle switch allows you to match impedance to your headphone type.
