Product description

The XGA-Resolution Sony VPLFX500L Installation Projector is a powerhouse of a projector with 7000 lumens of brightness and a 2500:1 contrast ratio. Thanks to its 0.99" (25mm) 3LCD BrightEra Projection Panels it creates vivid lifelike images in fine detail. 3LCD technology delivers sharper and brighter images with superior grayscale detail. But Sony has improved it with its BrightEra technology, which offers even higher brightness with improved reliability, increased contrast and reduced flicker. Of course the VPLFX500L has the features you've come to expect from a high-quality installation projector. It can display 720p, 1080i and 1080p high definition images and its international capabilities include being able to automatically select and project NTSC, NTSC 4.43, PAL, PAL-M, PAL-N, PAL-60 and SECAM signals. It also has a world-ready 100 to 240 volt AC 50/60 Hz power supply. You can control the focus, zoom, and (both vertical and horizontal) picture shift from the projector or right from the remote control. With its RJ-45 jack you can attach the VPLFX500L to your LAN and perform all of the usual operations like manage and control one or more projectors from a single PC and set up the projector to email you when it discovers a fault or, for instance, the lamp is nearing the end of its useful life. But with the VPLFX500L and a LAN connection you can do more. You can actually present from any computer on the network. If you manually register your PC's IP address with the projector, you can project from anywhere on the Internet. That's great for teleconferencing and distance learning applications. Lens Not Included!
    Twin Lamp System
  • For worry-free operation, a second lamp is built-in to provide automatic back-up should the primary lamp fail. Since the two lamps are alternately used, the total expected lamp life can total up to approximately 8000 hours
    Superior Image Quality
  • The VPL-FX500L offers an outstanding color light output of 7000 lumens and a high contrast ratio at 2500:1. 12-bit 3D Digital Gamma Correction reproduces gradation in greater detail. Film Mode technology generates high quality images through the interlace to progressive conversion processor. Signals of film-originated sources converted through 2-3 and 2-2 pull down process are detected, resulting in extremely accurate image reproduction
    Wide Variety of Lenses
  • The VPL-FX500L ships without a lens, and offers backwards compatibility with a wide variety of existing Sony lenses, allowing easy replacement to existing projectors
    Centered Lens Design
  • The centered lens provides symmetry for a balanced installation, and makes setup very simple
    Maintenance Made Easy
  • When it's time to replace the lamp, a message will appear onscreen. Lamp replacement and filter cleaning can be performed quickly, easily and at the same time, without uninstalling the projector, since both are accessible from the side. And Sony's dust protection system makes for an advanced long filter cleaning cycle, which means less frequent filter changes
    Economical Benefits
  • Replace lamps less frequently with a long lamp life of 6000 / 8000 hours. Sony's optical engine, BrightEra with longer lasting optics provides improved optical efficiency: more light is projected onto the screen at less lamp power, requiring smaller lamps. Smaller lamps are less expensive, use less electricity and produce less heat
    Eco-Friendly Features
  • Save energy costs with the push of the Eco-Mode button on projector or Remote Commander; Lamp Mode saves the consumption of lamp wattage; Power Saving Mode kicks in if there is no operation for 10 minutes without any signal input; Standby Mode can reduce power consumption in standby
    Seamless Design
  • Outfitted with a white and flat cabinet and a connector panel located on the lower face front, hiding the connectors and cables, the VPL-FX500L gives audiences the impression that the projector is blended into the ceiling when mounted. Fan noise is moderate
BrightEra with Long Lasting Optics Technology
  • BrightEra with Long Lasting Optics is the Sony brand name for a new generation of optical system, which is a more advanced version of Sony's original BrightEra technology. In addition to the adoption of LCD panels that have pixels with large aperture ratios and inorganic alignment layers, BrightEra with Long Lasting Optics Technology also uses an inorganic layer for polarization plates to greatly enhance reliability
    3LCD Projection System
  • The VPL-FX500L adopts a 3LCD projection system incorporating three LCD panels. This system enables the projector to present bright and natural images.
    Long-Lasting Lamp
  • By incorporating newly developed high-performance lamps and advanced lamp-control technology, the VPL-FX500L delivers a recommended lamp replacement time of approximately 8,000 hours
    Low Power Consumption
  • The VPL-FX500L offers remarkably low power consumption, allowing users to make significant savings on their electricity expenses
    Eco-Mode Key
  • With a single push of the Eco-Mode key on either the projector or the supplied Remote Commander unit, users can select an energy-saving setting in the Eco-Mode menu
    I/P Conversion and Film Mode
  • The video signal processing technology that Sony has incorporated in the VPL-FX500L offers I/P conversion and 2-3 pull-down to generate high-quality images with outstanding clarity
    Lens Shift Function
  • The VPL-FX500L is equipped with a lens shift function, which is controlled from the projector control panel or the supplied Remote Commander unit. Using this function, the position of the projected image can be moved vertically by -96% to +96% and horizontally by -64% to +64%. Images can be easily adjusted to the desired settings during installation
    Lamp and Filter Synchronized Maintenance
  • When the lamps and air filter are due for replacement, a timely message is clearly displayed on screen. The lamps and air filter are accessible from both sides, so their replacement can be performed without uninstalling the projector. Like the lamps, the replacement filter has an approximate 8000-hour replacement cycle in Standard Mode. This synchronized replacement is achieved, even in tough environments, by a Quad Filter System Plus, saving maintenance time and cost. The Quad Filter System Plus is composed of four pleated electrostatic filters. This substantial unit is designed to maintain high performance for a long period of time, requiring air filter replacement only when lamp replacement is also required (included with replacement lamp)
One-Way Intake with Quad Filter System Plus
  • To keep all internal parts clean, the projector design unifies air intake through just one hole which is equipped with a high reliability filter system
    Two Feet Functional Size
  • The VPL-FX500L matches well with typical ceiling tile and is blended into the ceiling
    Presentation Functions
  • Freeze Function: Freezes the projected image
Digital Zoom Function: Enlarges a section of the image
    Picture/Audio Muting: Mutes the image/audio
