It can be used by musicians, sound designers, podcasters, videographers, YouTubers, and field recordists in various audio applications.The MixPre-6 features Sound Devices' Kashmir ultra-low noise, discrete, and Class-A microphone preamp. Built with 32-bit A-to-D converters, the MixPre-6 ensures audio recordings surpass those of off-the-shelf, IC-based mic preamps. The unit can function as a USB audio interface and record audio to an SD card while simultaneously streaming multiple channels of audio via USB.Furthermore, the sunlight-readable color LCD of the MixPre-6 provides convenient navigation. It is constructed with a die-cast aluminum chassis, is lightweight, and has a robust build.   • The MixPre-6 bridges the gap between sound engineers, musicians, and YouTubers with user-friendly navigation featuring Basic and Advanced modes. It is designed to allow a user to start recording right out of the box. The MixPre-6's pre-roll feature captures five seconds of audio before the record button is pressed, ensuring the capture of crucial audio even when the operator can't start recording fast enough.
  Advanced Mixing Capabilities
  • With a full-featured mixer, the MixPre-6 offers ergonomic gain-control knobs for fast and accurate mixing. Other key features include pan and soloing plus easy-to-see ring LED metering per channel. It also includes a 3.5mm jack for headphone monitoring with user-programmable presets from its wide-bandwidth headphone amp.
  A Videographer's Dream
  • As an added benefit to DSLR users, the MixPre-6 has a retractable 1/4"-20 mounting thread, making it a good match for a wide variety of cameras. This design allows for solid, low-profile tripod/camera mounting; because the male and female 1/4"-20 threads are captive, they cannot be lost and are always available. Capable cameras can feed timecode to the device over its HDMI input, which provides synchronization of sound and video. Timecode can also be fed into the unit's 3.5mm input from an external TC generator. The MixPre-6's HDMI input can also receive "record triggers" from popular cameras, which automatically start and stop recording via the camera's record button.
  Flexible Powering Options
  • The MixPre-6 has multiple powering options. It can receive power from AA batteries in a convenient detachable sled of either four or eight cells. Also available is a sled that offers powering from up to two hot-swappable, Sony L-Mount lithium-ion batteries. Additionally, the entire recorder can be powered from a laptop's USB Type-C or USB Type-A connectors, offering convenient connection and powering with just one cable. For applications where AC power is available, Sound Devices offers an optional AC adapter as well.
  Ambisonics Integration
  • Upon installation of the free Ambisonics plug-in (from the Sound Devices Plug-In Store), field recordists, game developers, and VR content creators will appreciate the support for simultaneous multi-format recording (AmbiX, FuMa, LR Stereo, and LR Binaural), real-time binaural/stereo monitoring, and A-Format, B-Format, and A- to B-Format conversion.
  Bluetooth Remote Control
  • Sound Devices Wingman, which is a free downloadable app for iOS/Android devices, communicates with your MixPre-6 (running the Musician plug-in) via Bluetooth Smart to give touchscreen access to high-resolution meters, record/stop/play operations, track naming/arming, and more.
  USB Control Surface Support
  • Control fader, trim (gain), pan, low-cut filtering, reverb, record, stop, and more from the Korg nanoKONTROL Studio, Korg nanoKONTROL2, Akai MIDImix, or Novation Launch Control XL USB control surfaces (all available separately).

• Stingray MixPro Audio Bag for MixPre-3, MixPre-6, DR-70D & DR-701D Recorders The K-Tek Stingray MixPro Audio Bag is designed for Sound Devices MixPre-3 and MixPre-6 recorders with a couple of wireless systems, NP-1 batteries, and various accessories. Also compatible with the Tascam DR-70D and DR-701D, as well as the Zoom F4 and F8, it can help turn your small recorder into a portable workstation with a multitude of options for accessing connectors, controls, and SD card, in various recording environments when working in the field.The Stingray MixPro features multilayer exterior walls and a rigid vertical frame that allows the bag to better stand on its own, while protecting equipment and providing full access to the sides and bottom of the recorder. The combined front and bottom flap opens wide to access the internal battery packs and media compartments on the bottom of the MixPre units, and can even reattach to the back of the MixPro. It also allows for front-mounting of the recorder to the bottom of a camera.The removable front pouch storage compartment is large enough to hold NP-1 batteries with cup adapters, while curved zippers encircle each side panel for full access to cabling into the main compartment. MOLLE straps and D-rings offer plenty of rigging points for additional accessories and allow the Stingray MixPro to be connected by harnesses and waist belts (available separately). A built-in kickstand enables the bag to sit at an angle when placed on a tabletop or when resting on the ground.The Stingray MixPro ships with a shoulder strap and a removable, clear vinyl cover that provides an unobstructed view of the recorder's screen, while shielding it from rain or splashing.
