Product description The Explorer 1500 Portable Lighting Kit with 2 Heads and Carrying Case from Speedotron was designed for photographers who need to take studio-quality lighting on the road without immediate access to AC power. The kit includes an Explorer Digital AC/DC Power Pack with a built-in battery that will give you up to 225 full power flashes. Two 2400Ws 102 Flash Heads with 7" reflectors are provided along with two 8.5' light stands and it all fits in a hard Air Case for storage and transport. - 1500 W/S Digital Explorer The Speedotron Explorer 1500 is a power pack utilizing many of the best elements of the Speedotron Black line of strobe products. It is a cost-effective solution to gas-powered generators, where AC power for strobes is not available. The Explorer provides up to 225 full power flashes to a single 103 Black Line Series flash head with color-corrected flashtube (not included). That number will be significantly lower when using two heads with this pack. Its battery has an integral charger that operates with any AC current from 85-265 AC Volts. It has 2 head outlets, and power may be divided asymmetrically - 1000 and 500 watt/seconds. It will power a modeling light up to 10 seconds at a time, powering off automatically, to conserve battery power (150 watts maximum recommended). Recycle time is 3.5 seconds @ full power. The power supply includes the power pack, battery, AC charging cable, sync cord and carrying case. UPC: 689670188722
- 102 Lamphead with 7" Reflector This is the tried-and-true, standard flash head of the Speedotron Black Line. Each 102 head is consistent in power output, and ease of reflector, flash tube, and model light change.
All Black Line light units utilize modular construction for easy storage and travel and are cabled with the new locking/quick-release power supply connector which is compatible with all older Black Line power supplies. A power supply for this flash head is required. - Modular Construction
- Aluminum, durable for years of studio and location use and abuse.
- Easy to Control
- Sure-grip handle for precise aiming of light
- Easily Replaceable Flash Tube
- 3200w plug-in vented UV coated quartz flash tube #14571. Flash tube may also be replaced with non-UV coated tube #14570.
- Fan Cooled
- High-efficiency -- necessary for rapid firing, constant model light use, and use with a softbox
- Removeable Reflector
- 7" grid reflector included, the 102 head will accept all of Speedotron's Blackline reflectors up to and including the 22" beauty light.
- Modeling Light
- 250w quartz modeling lamp #14520, also known as a GBESS, included. Will also accept a 150W quartz bulb, for cooler running.
- Long-Reaching Cable
- 20' cable included. Head extension cables are available for heads in use at longer distances from the power pack.
UPC: 689670188838 - Light Stand (Black, 8.5') This black-finished Speedotron Light Stand extends to a height of 8.5 feet. It will support a light or medium-size light fixture with softbox or umbrella.
- Black anodized aluminum construction.
UPC: 689670189149 - 54" Umbrella with Removable Black Backing The Speedotron/Photek 54" Umbrella with Removable Black Backing, enables it to be used as a makeshift softbox, when mounted on your Speedotron flash head or monolight. This 54" size is perfect for a 3 - 4 person head-to-waist shot, or 4 x 6' product setup. It will illuminate ~16 sq ft.
- Unique construction consisting of ten panels instead of the usual eight gives more reflective surface, more perfect circle of light - more flattering catch lights in the subject's eyes.
- The removable black nylon cover stops all stray and ricochet, enhancing total light control
- With removal of its black cover and a reversal of direction, the Softlighter II becomes a "softbox" -- a shoot-through diffuser, providing light that can be used either as a main light source or as a flattering fill.
- Note: For mounting shoe mount flash units to the Softlighter II a shoe mount light stand/umbrella adapter is necessary. Shoe mount flash units must be set to Manual because the entire flash will be inside the umbrella (unless the flash unit is equipped with a remote sensor).
- Note: For strobe use only -- not for use with hot lights, or modeling lights over 200 watts.
