Product description The black Sohoraid DR2-TB2 2-Bay Thunderbolt 2 RAID Enclosure from STARDOM comes with two Thunderbolt 2 ports and two storage bays along with a built-in hardware RAID controller, letting you create a tailored storage pool of data for storing photos, backing up files, and editing videos. The two bays support ultra-fast SSDs or high-capacity hard drives in the size of 3.5" or 2.5". With onboard RAID, you can configure your drives in a RAID 1, 0, or JBOD mode. For preserving files in the event a drive fails, RAID 1 mode duplicates the data on both drives. Configuring SSDs in a RAID 0 mode can deliver transfers speeds of up to 724 MB/s. To keep up with these fast speeds, each of the two Thunderbolt 2 ports delivers data at a rate of up to 20 Gb/s. - Thunderbolt 2
- The two Thunderbolt 2 ports on DR2-TB2 features dual 20 GB/s channels for data transfer, which is up to four times faster than USB 3.0. Additionally, Thunderbolt 2 offers you expansion capabilities by daisy-chaining as many as six Thunderbolt devices to a single port.
- RAID
- The DT2-TB2 comes with a built-in hardware RAID controller that gives you three configuration modes: RAID 1 (Safe Mode), RAID 0 (Speed Mode), and JBOD (Two Independent Volumes) for you to choose based upon your needs.
- JBOD lets install two disks that have different volumes and use them independently. You can also use this mode to apply with other STARDOM modules.
- To maximize data protection. RAID 1 (Mirror) mode writes the same data to both drives. In the event of a drive failure, the second drive will take over.
- RAID 0 mode enables the drives to attain up to 724 MB/s read speeds with the DR2-TB2's Thunderbolt transmission interface. Whether it is used for searching and editing photo galleries or video editing, this mode delivers a smooth and easy operation.
- Design
- The DR2-TB2 has a sleek exterior design with 0.1" of aluminum to shield your drives and to dissipate the heat created by the drives. Two fans are also on board to help remove heat.
- Removable Trays
- The DR2-TB2 supports 3.5" and 2.5" SATA hard drives to deliver high-capacity data storage solutions. The removable trays are made from aluminum to protect your internal drives.
- Power Management
- The DR2-TB2 uses energy-efficient hardware components that work hand in hand with the Mac system to conserve power. It spins down hard drives and activates sleep mode after a period of inactivity.
