Product description The SOHORAID SR2-SB3+ 2-Bay USB 3.0 RAID Enclosure from Stardom provides you with two 2.5" or 3.5" SATA III bays for hard drives or solid-state drives, in either RAID 0 or RAID 1 configurations. With RAID 0, you'll have faster read and write times; however, should a drive fail, the whole array will fail. On the other hand, RAID 1 creates a copy of your data (mirroring) so in the event of a drive failure, the second one will still have your files. Secure your drives into the locking drive modules and insert them properly to prevent them from being accidentally removed. Once installed, you can use the front panel LCD display to configure and monitor the setup without any software installation. The SOHORAID can also be managed via the S.M.A.R.T GUI utility. Connect this enclosure to your system via USB 3.0 or e-SATA for speeds of up to 5 Gb/s or 6 Gb/s respectively. - RAID 1
- RAID 1 offers data protection by writing data to both drives simultaneously. Should a drive fail, the second drive will take over.
- RAID 0
- RAID 0 provides you with extra speed by evenly striping data across the two drives. Since there is no fault tolerance or redundancy, the whole array will fail should one drive fail.
- S.M.A.R.T Features
- The S.M.A.R.T feature is a GUI utility that you can use to check HDD status and replace failed or failing drives beforehand.
- Built-In LCD Panel
- Configure, setup, and monitor your RAID via the front panel. You won't need to install any software so it's ready to use right out of the box.
- Secure Drive Modules
- The drive modules are built with a locking mechanism to prevent them from accidentally sliding out or removed.
