Product description The 3-Port 2b 1a 1394 Low Profile PCI Express FireWire Adapter Card from StarTech can be installed in a PCI Express slot. With dual IEEE 1394b ports and single IEEE 1394a port, it provides broad compatibility with a whole range of FireWire devices (e.g. DV camcorders, external hard drives, digital cameras, etc.). This adds 3 FireWire ports to a standard or small form factor computer enabling support for high powered FireWire devices. It features a native single chip PCI Express chipset which results in fast, reliable performance. Using this card, you can add high speed FireWire port to any desktop. One of its great applications is that a high speed external hard drive or digital camera can be connected to a PCI Express enabled system. Note: The software included with this product supports a "typical" driver install only. Custom driver setup requires software purchase from a 3rd party. - Dual 9-pin FireWire 800 ports, each with transfer rates up to 800Mbps
- Single 6-pin FireWire 400 port, each with transfer rates up to 400Mbps
- Built with a native PCI Express chipset, no bridge chip
- Internal power connector for high powered FireWire devices
- Includes low profile/half-height installation bracket
- Compliant with IEEE 1394b and backwards compatible with IEEE 1394a - 2000 as well as 1394-1995 standards
