Product description The 8-Port RS-232 Serial PCIe Native Adapter Card with 16950 UART from StarTech allows you to turn a PCIe slot into eight RS-232 (DB9) serial connections using the included breakout cable. The serial card is based on a native single-chip design that harnesses the full capability of PCIe to provide optimum reliability and speed, while reducing the load applied to the CPU by as much as 48% over conventional serial cards. The RS-232 card is compatible with a broad range of operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and Mac OS for easy integration into mixed environments. - 8 high-speed RS-232 serial ports with data transfer rate up to 460.8 kb/s
- 128 bytes deep FIFO per transmitter and receiver
- Automated in-band software flow control using programmable Xon/Xoff in both directions
- Automated out-of-band hardware flow control using Tx/Rx/RTS/CTS/DSR/DTR/DCD/RI/GND
- Compliant with PCIe base specification revision 1.0a
- High-performance dual-channel Oxford 950 UART provides reliability, speed, and broad OS compatibility
- Native single-chip, single-lane PCIe design reduces overall load on the CPU
