Product description The Cisco Compatible Gigabit RJ-45 Mini-GBIC Copper SFP Transceiver Module from StarTech adds support for 10/100/1000 Mb/s RJ-45 copper Ethernet connections to networking equipment with spare SFP slots. It is built to comply with MSA (Multi-Sourcing Agreement) standards and offers a cost-effective way to add, replace, or upgrade a copper Ethernet port on your 10/100/1000 Base-T networking equipment. This mini-GBIC features 10/100/1000 Mb/s auto-negotiation at distances up to 328' (100m). It can be installed into any fiber networking devices with an MSA or Cisco compliant SFP port. This copper transceiver is hot-pluggable, allowing you to install the module without interrupting network traffic or requiring a device reboot, thus delivering convenience and scalability. - The Ethernet SFP module supports up to 1.25 Gb/s bi-directional communication
- Auto crossover (MDI / MDI-X) detection
- Compliant with SFP MSA standards, this hot-pluggable module can be installed into any networking device and used to replace defective or damaged SFPs in an MSA compliant or Cisco compliant port
- The transceiver module is a convenient way to add a copper connection to an SFP type switch that would typically be used for fiber SFPs
