Product description Transfer files from either 2.5" or 3.5" SATA III drives with the External Docking Station from StarTech. The docking station features a single hot-swappable drive slot and supports both SSDs and HDDs in capacities up to 6TB. Connecting the dock to your computer is simple as it comes equipped with USB 3.0 and eSATA ports along with a maximum transfer rate of up to 6 Gbps over the eSATA connection. Additionally, this StarTech docking station comes equipped with a built-in 80mm fan to keep the drive cool even when pushing it to the max. - Maximize Compatibility
- With support for either USB 3.0 or eSATA host connections, this versatile drive dock gives you the freedom to connect to your computer through either port. The docking station features a slot-loading design that supports both 2.5" and 3.5" drives and it has been tested with drives up to 6TB.
- Protect the Health of Your Drives
- For optimal performance, the docking station has a built-in 80mm fan that helps keep the drive running cooler. The variable speed fan can be adjusted on the fly to reduce power consumption and noise when the drive isn't being accessed. The HDD dock will also power down SATA drives after a period of inactivity (USB mode only) or when the computer is turned off, to help reduce power consumption and noise when not being accessed.
