Product description Built using aluminum and plastic, the M.2 SSD to 2.5" SATA III Adapter from Startech provides users with a protective 2.5" housing for an M.2 SSD. This housing is equipped with a SATA III 6 Gb/s interface and once an M.2 drive is placed within, it may be used into your system's 2.5" drive bay as a boot drive. If your system has multiple 2.5" drive bays, then this adapter can provide additional storage. The M.2 SSD to 2.5" SATA III Adapter supports 2.5" drive bays that are 9.5mm or greater in height, is backwards compatible with SATA II 3 Gb/s and SATA 1.5 Gb/s, and is compatible with most M.2 SSDs, such as 2242, 2260, and 2280. It is OS independent, requires no software or drivers, and includes an SSD mounting kit, a housing mounting kit, and a mini screw driver.
