Product description The USB 3.0 SATA Hard Drive Duplicator & Eraser Dock from StarTech will allow users to connect 2.5" or 3.5" SATA III 6 Gb/s, SATA II 3 Gb/s, or SATA I 1.5 Gb/s hard drives or SSDs to their host system via USB 3.0 (USB 3.1 Gen 1) without the need for a drive enclosure. The dock's dual SATA drive bays can also be used to clone drives in a stand-alone fashion that does not require a computer. In addition to functioning as a cloning device, this dock also functions as a drive eraser, making it an effective and versatile solution for external drive management. This user-friendly, all-in-one solution is suitable for virtually any application requiring hard drive duplication or erasing thanks to its standalone, sector-by-sector hard drive duplication with built-in LED progress bar and support for 2-drive single pass overwriting.
In addition to supporting SATA hard drives and SSDs up to 4TB, this dock also increases the storage and backup capabilities of your computer. This hard drive docking station can be used with the SAT2IDEADP SATA to IDE Hard Drive Adapter (available separately) that allows easy insertion of almost any 2.5 or 3.5" IDE hard drive into the SATA hard drive dock.
The StarTech USB 3.0 SATA Hard Drive Duplicator & Eraser Dock operates using an included 110-240 VAC power supply. Its USB 3.0 port operates at speeds up to 5 Gb/s, while its SATA ports operate with SATA II 3 Gb/s speeds. Also included is a USB 3.0 cable and protection is provided by a limited 2-year warranty.
