Product description The Steinberg AXR4T is a thunderbolt audio interface with a panoply of connections, a variety of digital I/O configurations, and four Hybrid preamps with Rupert Neve Designs' Silk processing. This processing allows you to impart subtle harmonic saturation to give your sound more heft, grit, or warmth.
This interface itself is capable of capturing audio at sample rates and resolutions of up to 384 kHz / 32-bit, enabling a highly-detailed reproduction of transients as well as an increase in headroom over 24-bit converters. The unit provides SSPLL (Super Suppression Phase Locked Loop) clocking technology to mitigate sound issues associated with jitter. Indeed, SSPLL will make all your connected gear work virtually jitter free.
The AXR4T connects to your host computer over Thunderbolt 2, providing two system expansion ports. AES and ADAT Optical conversion are available on the rear panel as are eight 1/4" line inputs and eight 1/4" line outputs.
On the front of the device, you'll find four combination XLR-1/4" inputs with Yamaha's Hybrid preamps and the aforementioned RND Silk circuits. Use this for your mics, instruments, and any line-level instruments you wish to record. Two headphone outputs on the front panel sport their own dedicated level knobs. - Latency-Free Monitoring
- Seamlessly integrating with Cubase and most other DAWs, the AXR4 delivers latency-free monitoring with DSP-powered FX via the onboard SSP3 DSP chip and latest dspMixFx for AXR technology. This provides a fully integrated, DSP-based monitoring setup in any situation irrespective of the DAW you use.
- dspMixFx Mixing Application
- The dspMixFx for AXR application allows for setup and control of the AXR4's mixer and DSP effects. A full 28x24 matrix mixer has been incorporated to satisfy professional-level monitoring and system-related requirements, allowing you accomplish multiple routing schemes. You can, for instance, route inputs and DAW or computer-system audio to a mix bus.
Indeed, the dspMixFx mixing application for the AXR4 makes the setup of the unit a straightforward affair, interfacing with your chosen DAW seamlessly, and giving you full access to all necessary routings and controls.
