Product description The UR824 from Steinberg is a USB 2.0, DSP-powered digital audio interface featuring up to 24 inputs and 24 outputs, and designed to deliver high-resolution audio. Eight of the analog input channels feature D-Pre microphone preamps with switchable phantom power. Hi-Z instrument inputs are also available, along with ADAT I/O on TOSLink connectors.
Version 2 is a major firmware update from Steinberg that adds new functionality to the UR824, such as iPad connectivity and new guitar amp simulator effects running on the DSP, as well as being bundled as VST 3 plug-ins. The update is free of charge and is available in the support area. Additionally, all registered users will be eligible for a free version of Cubase AI 7.
The unit's front panel hosts two of the eight Neutrik combo connectors for balanced microphone/line input, pad push buttons for signal attenuation, along with gain controls with peak indicators. A single rotary knob allows for global adjustment of the eight line output signals, while two headphone connectors each feature a dedicated level control.
The expansive analog and digital I/O capabilities allow for hooking up a comprehensive selection of outboard equipment and instruments, and the signals can also be fed to a computer via the high-speed USB 2.0 link for mixing and recording at a maximum resolution of 24-bits/96kHz. Two BNC connectors are available for Wordclock input and output. For signal synchronization, the interface features JetPLL, a jitter controlling solution for audio networks. - Version 2 Firmware Update
