Product description Designed for midrange tactical use by law enforcement, military, and other professionals professionals, and engineered to exacting military specifications for outstanding performance in challenging environmental conditions, the Steiner Optics 8x30 M830r LRF Military Rangefinding Binocular is engineered to be an invaluable addition to any operative who needs to stay fast and mobile. The optics are fully multi-coated to maximize light transmission through the light path, and the traditional Porro prism light path provides a rich depth of field that enables the observer to discern the relative position of subjects in the field of view. These features present the user with an immersive "3D" observational experience defined by bright and clear high-contrast views and accurate color rendition. This model of the M830r is outfitted with an eye-safe infrared (IR) laser rangefinder (LRF) that can meter out to as far as 1860 yards using a simple 2-button user interface, and displays the distance in either yards or meters. With spot and scan modes available, users can take a single measurement or meter to multiple targets and track moving subjects with constantly updated ranges. Complementing the LRF is a mil-scale reticle designed as an analog back-up if the battery dies to enable fast and easy estimation of the range to subjects such as boats, buoys, game animals, and landmarks.Steiner outfitted the optic with construction details that allow the binoculars to withstand the rigors of the outdoors. These details begin with Steiner's Sports-Auto-Focus System which allows the user to focus each eyepiece, just one time, and eliminates the need to refocus again regardless of how near or far the subject is - or if it is moving. The chassis is made of a lightweight and impact-resistant Makrolon polycarbonate material that is wrapped in an oil-, petroleum-, and chemical-resistant NBR synthetic rubber armor that offers improved grip security, especially in cold and wet weather. Its optical tubes are nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed to be waterproof to a depth of 16 feet, and resistant to internal fogging when moving through extreme temperature changes and environmental conditions. Designed for surveillance, reconnaissance, and other tactical uses, the M830r laser rangefinder is tripod mountable with an optional adapter. - Optical Performance
