Product description Designed as an all-flash NAS for I/O-intensive and latency-sensitive applications, the FlashStation FS1018 12-Bay NAS Enclosure from Synology has a desktop form factor and can perform iSCSI 4K random writes of over 40,000 IOPS, making it well-suited for demanding work environments such as running business applications like mail services and virtualization. It is equipped with twelve drive bays that are capable of natively supporting 2.5" SATA SSD drives. Using its twelve drive bays, this NAS will allow you to store and share a large number of files, including videos, music, photos, and documents with up to 16,000 user accounts and 2000 maximum concurrent connections.
The FS1018 runs on Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM) OS, which is a browser-based operating system which helps to simplify managing your Synology NAS. Its CPU is a 2.2 GHz Intel Pentium D1508 Dual-Core with a burst frequency of up to 2.6 GHz, and its 8GB of DDR4 ECC RAM, which be upgraded to 32GB, allows frequently-used files and applications to be quickly accessed.
Also featured are three USB 3.0 Type-A ports and two expansion ports which allow it to be connected to compatible devices, such as DX1215 expansion units. Network connectivity is achieved via the four Gigabit Ethernet ports that support Link Aggregation and Failover, allowing your stored data to be shared with users throughout the network. For those who require RAID support, the FS1018 supports RAID F1, which is designed to work specifically with SSDs. RAID F1 unevenly distributes the overall workload between the drives, thus helping to enhance the storage pool and keep your data safe. Also supported is RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, and 10, each of which provides speed, data redundancy, or a combination of both.
The DS918+ is engineered to be energy efficient. Not only does it offer two 92 x 92mm fans to help keep the system running cool at all times, its noise dampening design of 28.1 dB(A) makes for quiet operations. The server supports numerous scheduled power on/off cycles and hard drive hibernation to further minimize power consumption and operation expenses.
The Synology FlashStation FS1018 12-Bay NAS Enclosure operates on 100-240 VAC at 50/60 Hz and includes an accessory pack, a power cord, and two RJ45 LAN cables. Protection is provided by a limited 5-year warranty. General Features - Flexible Scalability Meets Growing Needs
