Product description The Synology RX1217RP 12-Bay Storage Expansion Unit sports 12 hot-swappable drive bays so you can expand your Synology RackStation's storage capacity. The RX1217RP connects to your Synology RackStation via an included Infiniband cable, which helps ensure maximum data throughputs. For expansion, each of the bays is capable of holding a single 2.5" hard drive, 3.5" hard drive, or 2.5" SSD. Other notable features include three 80mm fans that cool your drives and the RX1217RP. Moreover, two redundant 500W power supplies are on board to provide 24/7 operations in the event one PSU fails. - Volume Expansion & Backup
- When drive capacity is running low on a Synology RackStation, the Synology RX1217RP offers an easy way to immediately expand storage by providing 12 additional drive slots. The RAID volume on the Synology RackStation can be expanded directly without having to reformat the existing hard drives, ensuring service continuity during the expansion process. To ensure 24/7 service uptime, the Synology RX1217RP is equipped with redundant power supplies, allowing automatic failover support if one of the PSUs fail.
When created as a separate volume, the Synology RX1217RP also serves as an additional local backup destination for Synology RackStations. - Reliable Design
- The Synology RX1217RP securely connects to Synology RackStation servers with a high-bandwidth expansion cable, ensuring maximum data throughput and smooth operation - as if they are part of the internal drives of Synology RackStation. A SATA 6 Gb/s interface ensures the installed drives provide fast data processing performance.
- Easy to Manage
- Hibernation mode can be manually configured to start automatically when the system has been inactive for a period of time. This not only saves energy, but also extends the lifespan of your hard drives. The RX1217RP will also smartly power on/off with the attached RackStation, so no user intervention is needed to keep this system running efficiently.
