Product description The Synology RX1217sas SAS/SATA Expansion Chassis provides twelve additional drive bays for your RackStation RS18017xs+ NAS enclosure, letting the host system hold more 2.5" and 3.5" storage drives. Each of the bays has a hot-swappable drive tray for quick installation of a user-supplied drive and supports storage drives that feature a SAS or SATA interface. To run your drives reliably, two 500W power supplies and four 60mm fans are on board.
The RX1217sas comes with a SAS input port that connects to a host system's optional FS3017 expansion card; and a SAS output on the RX1217sas is available for accessing a second optional expansion chassis. This two-port design enables you to expand the RackStation RS18017xs+ NAS enclosure's storage capacity with up to seven RX1217sas chassis. Furthermore, Synology includes a miniSAS expansion cable for connecting the RX1217sas to a RS18017xs+. - 12-Bay 3.5"/2.5" SAS/SATA Expansion
- The RX1217sas provides 12 additional drive bays for a Synology FlashStation or RackStation. Supporting both 2.5" and 3.5" SAS/SATA drives, the RX1217sas is a flexible solution supporting on-the-fly volume expansion or serving as a local backup destination.
