Product description Designed to improve the sound quality of your next film project, this B&H Kit features a Tascam DR-70D 4-Channel Recorder as well as four AA batteries for powering the recorder, a 16GB SD card for recording files, a coiled stereo 3.5mm cable for connecting the output of the camera-mounted recorder to the input of your camera, a pair of Senal SMH-1000 closed-back headphones for monitoring the audio, a shotgun microphone for more directional sound capture, a shockmount for reducing handling noise with the shotgun microphone, and a microphone cable for connecting the shotgun microphone to the recorder. The kit also includes a 5' long stereo 3.5mm cable for connecting the recorder to the camera when the shotgun microphone and recorder is detached from the camera, such as when being used on a boom pole. - Tascam DR-70D 4-Channel Audio Recording Device for DSLR and Video Cameras Designed as an audio recording solution for filmmakers, the DR-70D 4-Channel Audio Recording Device for DSLR and Video Cameras from Tascam features dual built-in omnidirectional microphones and is capable of recording up to 4 tracks simultaneously. It has tripod mounts on both the top and bottom of the unit and can be mounted above or below your DSLR or video camera as well as on a follow-focus cage.
Recording to SD, SDHC, or SDXC cards up to 128GB, the DR-70D tracks in BWAV format for NLE compatibility. All integral parameters feature dedicated hardware controls, so you never have to go searching through menus to quickly change a setting. A dedicated camera output lets you send a mic-level signal to your camera's audio input to create a reference track for easier synching in post, while the dedicated headphone output allows you to monitor your audio. - Designed for use with video and DSLR cameras and can be screwed to the bottom of a DSLR camera with jacks and controls that stay out of the way

There is a stretchable 4 to 10' coiled cable that provides better mobility and reach, that also helps prevent snags from pulling the headphones off of your head. This can be useful when navigating through gear-cluttered recording studio environments. There is also a 3' straight cable that is useful when less slack is ideal, such as when using a waist-mounted field recorder or mixer, or when using your mobile device.
The SMH-1000 has been built with convenience, practicality and comfort in mind as well. The headphones have a collapsible folding mechanism for compact storage and transport. They also have wire guides to keep the ear-cup wires from pinching. Furthermore, they are fitted with a padded headband and soft, replaceable ear cushions to maximize comfort during extended listening. - An excellent choice for commercial recording, broadcast, home studios, and live and location sound.
