Product description The HS-P82 from Tascam is a professional-quality field audio recorder that offers 8 tracks of high-definition audio recording in a rugged and reliable body. The unit has 8 XLR mic inputs, each with phantom power and analog limiting. Recessed front-panel trim controls for each channel prevent accidental changes. In addition to the 8 individual tracks, a stereo mixdown can also be recorded for instant use during editing.
The unit captures audio at rates up to 24-bit/192kHz onto industry-standard CompactFlash cards. Because CF cards have no moving parts, they are incredibly reliable and durable. The Broadcast WAV audio files also include iXML metadata for use with a variety of audio and video editing systems. The unit has a USB port for convenient file transfer to any computer.
In the field power is key, so the HS-P82 provides a variety of options. It can operate on AA or NP batteries, the included AC adapter, an external DC input, or a V-mount adapter for Endura batteries. Other features include a built-in slate mic, a 5-second prerecord buffer, and headphone output alert signal.
For high-resolution applications, the unit has a set of AES/EBU connectors, which allow you to connect high-end A/D converters and preamplifiers.
