Product description The Celesonic US-20x20 from Tascam is a single rack space USB audio MIDI interface that delivers twenty channels of analog and digital inputs and outputs. Eight of the analog inputs feature Ultra-HDDA microphone preamps that provide 56 dB of gain, suitable for a wide range of microphone types. Up to ten channels of digital I/O can be accessed via ADAT and S/PDIF connectors, while Wordclock is available for use with external clocks. MIDI I/O allows use with controllers and synthesizers, and sample rates up to 24-bit/192 kHz are supported.
The unit features three operation modes for maximum flexibility - audio interface, digital mixer, and eight-channel digital microphone preamp. The USB 3.0 interface uses class-compliant drivers for future-proof use with computers and tablets, while a built-in DSP mixer includes parametric EQ and compression on every channel, and a stereo reverb send for enhancing monitor mixes. The DSP mixer can store up to ten snapshots as scenes, making it easy to recall mixer settings, and can also be used as a live mixer or sub-mixer with computer control.
Two instrument-level inputs are provided for direct input of guitar or bass. The angled design of the interface makes desktop viewing and operation much easier than a flat box sitting on a table, and the separate headphone and line output volume controls allow for setting an optimum level when both powered monitors and headphones are connected. For users who prefer rack mounting the unit, the company includes adapters and hex keys. -
