Product description Merging two popular products, the Flashback X4 Delay and the original Alter Ego Delay, the Alter Ego X4 from TC Electronic packs twelve different vintage delay emulations into one stompbox enclosure. Sporting the ability to switch between three different delays, this pedal also allows you control over feedback and delay levels, as well as a tap tempo option to boot. Two 1/4" input jacks and two 1/4" output jacks automatically sense mono or stereo signals, giving you opportunities to create some seriously spacey delays, should that be your preference. Or you can keep it simple with models of the classics, such as adding an Echoplex to your sound at whim.
DIP switches provide you a choice between true or buffered bypass, while MIDI-in and MIDI-thru ports make syncing to host tempos or integrating this unit into your rack a cinch. Its mini-USB port allows you to stay current with TC Electronic's updates, as well as the ability to download and store presets from a software editor, TonePrint, included with the pedal. Additionally, this pedal functions as a looper, allowing you to record 40 seconds worth of material to play on top of, even providing an undo button should you wish to scrap a layer. - TonePrint Software
- Via the TonePrint App, utilize artist presets or construct your own in the editor; then download them into the Ego X4—or "beam" their sonic signature from your phone straight into your guitar's pickup
- Classic and Modern Echoes
- Emulations of units such as the Binson Echorec, Roland Space Echo, Echoplex, TC Electronic 2290, and more
- Delay and Looper in One
- Toggle between looper and delay functionality with the flick of a switch
