Product description Reminiscent of the sound Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois engineered for U2's The Edge, the TC Electronic FLUORESCENCE Shimmer Reverb is a reverb pedal intended for use with electric guitar. The stompbox offers a simple 4-knob set of controls including a dedicated Shimmer knob. The shimmer effect is traditionally produced by taking the tail of a reverb and pitching it up an octave, which gives you a bell-like tone that has been described as celestial and otherworldly. For the FLUORESCENCE, this effect ha been given its own control, so you can add the octavized process to taste. The other controls are Mix, Reverb, and Tone, and with all of these, you should be able to dial in your preferred timbre relatively quickly. The FLUORESCENCE can be powered with a 9V battery or a PSU-SB DC power supply, both of which are available separately. The pedal utilizes all-analog circuitry and offers a true bypass footswitch, so your signal remains pristine and unaffected when the pedal is disengaged. The FLUORESCENCE sports a rugged metal frame, so it can stand up to the rigors of the road. - Controls Explained
- A Reverb knob adjusts the amount of tail on your dry signal for short or long resonances. The Mix knob lets you adjust the balance between the reverb tail and your guitar sound, while the Tone knob sets the amount of high-end that's added to the reverb. Lastly, the Shimmer knob rolls in the amount of octave tones to round out the pedal's thick, ethereal ambiance.
