Product description The Sentry Noise Gate from TC Electronic is a pedal designed to remove unwanted noise from electric guitar signals, giving you several distinct ways of doing so. First off, this pedal houses multiband technology which allows you to carve out the specific frequencies you'd wish to gate from your signal whenever you cease playing. If you prefer a classic gate to clamp down on your signal once your playing has stopped, the Sentry features a Hard-Gate mode, which can be used for an immediate cut. Finally, the pedal is TonePrint enabled, meaning you can reshape how the gate responds from a free, downloadable app and instantiate those parameters via USB. This app carries presets voiced by well-regarded musicians as well.
For controls, this pedal gives you a Damp knob to adjust the volume level your signal will drop to once the gate is engaged, a Threshold knob for setting the level at which the gate takes hold, and a Decay knob for controlling how long the gate stays open. A mini-toggle switch allows you to alternate between the Multiband gate, the Hard-Gate, and the TonePrint-enabled preset. A send and return loop allows you to activate the gate with external audio; for instance, patch your noisy pedals through this gate to better tune the pedal toward sounds that needs to be reduced, or loop in the signal of an external instrument to instantiate creative ducking effects. This pedal also features a bypass switch which can be changed from True to Buffered settings by means of an internal DIP switch.
