Product description The Sub’N’Up Mini Octaver from TC Electronic is a pedal designed for electric guitar and electric bass. It utilizes an octave-engine which can achieve both monophonic and polyphonic tracking, giving you the ability to create shimmery tones reminiscent of a Hammond organ, or a squelching bass line—all from the same instrument at the tap of a toe.Two octave registers are provided via three knobs, so you can blend signal that is one octave up and one octave down on the pedal itself. You’ll also note the Dry knob, which lets you dial in unprocessed signal to taste. Like many TC Electronic pedals, the Sub’N’Up is TonePrint enabled, giving you presets custom-tweaked by artists that can be beamed straight to the pedal from a tablet, phone, or device sporting the TonePrint app. It is also worth noting that you can create your own custom TonePrints within the app itself.Sonic signatures of the original Sub'N'Up can be loaded in this mini counterpart via TonePrint too; basically--when compared to the original--you lose some hardware features (a knob and a switch), gain some room on your pedalboard, and sacrifice nothing in the way of tone. A bypass switch, which can be adjusted between True and Buffered settings via an internal DIP switch, allows you to turn the effect off and on. A power supply is included with the pedal. - Controls at a Glance
- DRY Knob: This controls the volume of your original signal. Set it high to retain your core sound alongside the octaves, or lower it to let the octaves shine through.UP Knob: This controls the volume of the octave-up signal.SUB Knob: Turn this to bring the octave-down signal in and out of the mix. Use a touch of it for supporting bass notes in the background, or crank it for bass-synth tones.True-Bypass Footswitch: When Sub ‘n’ Up Octaver is off, it’s really off. The switch’s true bypass design ensures zero tone coloration, letting your tone shine through with no loss of high-end.
- TonePrint Enabled
- Not only can you beam custom-made tones to the pedal via the free TonePrint app, you can also make your own octave tone from scratch via the TonePrint editor. With the editor, you can even modulate your octavized signal, adding tremolo to the processed tone for example.
- Tones of Original Via TonePrint
- When compared to its bigger sibling, this pedal lacks the polyphonic/monophonic toggle switch, as well as the two-octave down knob. However, the lightning fast polyphony, vintage/glitchy monophonic octavization, and lower-octave implementation are all still possible via TonePrint; simple create or access the appropriate sonic signature in the app, and then beam to the pedal straight from your smartphone, tablet, or other compatible device.
