Product description The TeachLogic IRF-3150/CS4 Forum Infrared Sound Field System includes the IMA-320 Forum Amplifier / Receiver Base Station with Switching Power Supply, IRT-55 Sapphire Transmitter with Microphone & Lithium-Ion Battery, ICS-55 Ceiling Dome Sensor for IR Connectivity, four CS-4 Ceiling Speakers, and BRC-15 Plug-In Wall Charger for the Sapphire Transmitter. The Forum Amplifier / Receiver Base Station is the nucleus of the Forum Wireless Classroom Wireless System and is designed for use with the Sapphire Microphone Transmitter. This transmitter transmits the vocal signal via infrared light to the dome sensor (included) installed on the ceiling. The signal is then sent via cable to the receiver input of the mixer / amplifier. The signal is detected and then processed through the power amplifier to the included speakers. The amplifier / receiver includes 2 infrared microphone channels, 2 auxiliary line inputs for computers and DVD/iPod units, and a 3-band equalizer. The 2 wireless microphone channels provide freedom of movement and permit hands-free performance. The 2 auxiliary inputs provide multimedia integration. The built-in power amp delivers 32W of power to a maximum of 4 speakers (included). It has separate outputs for both assistive listening and recording with active boards. The Sapphire Transmitter with Microphone & Lithium-Ion Battery is a lightweight classroom microphone and comes with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. It can be worn with a lanyard or clipped directly to your neckline collar. It has high level output, reliable connectivity, and great definition. With a built-in breath filter, the Sapphire can function as a pass-around hand microphone. With a tap on the power button, the microphone mutes for private conversation-tap again to restore to normal operation. The auxiliary input allows wireless playback of your iPod. A 3-position slide switch provides selection of low, medium, or high microphone volume levels. The SP-628 8Ω Ceiling Speaker with Metal Back Can & Tile Bridge is a full-range, compact, coaxial ceiling speaker that provides low distortion and a smooth natural frequency response, making it suitable for articulate vocal clarity. The speaker has an integrated steel back can along with a 24" tile bridge which allows for quick and easy installation. The speaker is ETL plenum rated and conforms to the UL2043 standard. The Infrared Dome Sensor needs to be installed on the ceiling at least 3' from the video projector. It comes with a mounting / support bracket, 50' of plenum-rated cable with RCA connector on each end, and 100' of plenum-rated 18 ga. speaker cable. The ideal location for the dome sensor would be in the center of the ceiling. This will provide a clear signal path for IR transmission from the transmitter to the dome sensor without obstruction. In addition, you will have 360° coverage and will minimize the transmission distance for more reliable performance. It collects the infrared transmission signal via 6 large detecting diodes. The sensor is connected to the mixer / amplifier via a plenum-rated cable terminated with RCA connectors. The mixer / amplifier supplies the power to the sensor. The BRC-15 Plug-In Wall Charger is used to charge the Sapphire Transmitter.
