Product description The Tech21 VT Bass 200 is a combo amplifier intended for use with electric basses. It's capable of pushing 200W of power into its 4-Ohm, 12" speaker. The cabinet itself is rear-ported to facilitate low-end heft, and the amplifier boasts a tube-emulating overdrive circuit for introducing harmonic distortion into your signal path.
A continuously variable Character control lets you choose between different tonal profiles, and a Character Switch provides even more timbre-tweaking possibilities. Other controls include a Bite switch, which instantiates a presence boost and adds definition to distorted signals, as well as Low, Mid, and High controls for equalization. The midrange knob also boasts a frequency-shifting switch that changes the center frequency from 1 kHz to 500 Hz. This gives you added options for boosting and cutting the midrange. You can use this amplifier with both active and passive basses thanks to a -10 dB pad switch.
Turn your attention to the rear of the amplifier and you'll note a few connection points, including a 1/4" external speaker jack and a 1/4" effects loop for patching your external gear directly into the amp's signal path. If you'd like to send signal to your recording interface or house PA, you can use the XLR DI jack, which sports a ground-lift switch and Tech21's SansAmp Tube Amplifier Emulation technology.
