Product description - Mic Roundup Part 1: Mics Inspired by the Neumann U47 and AKG C12
The AK-47 MKII Tube Microphone from Telefunken is a part of their acclaimed R-F-T series. The microphone features a large diaphragm condenser element and a custom output transformer that borrows from the historic BV8 transformer found in the vintage U-47 and U-48 microphones. The AK-47 MKII's tube stage features an NOS Telefunken EF-732 vacuum tube, delivering pristine audio fidelity, low noise and vintage analog warmth. The AK-47 MKII features omnidirectional, cardioid, and figure 8 polar patterns with 6 intermediate stages for each pattern. - Utilizes American-designed electronics in conjunction with new old-stock tubes and standardized parts
- Features a new proprietary circuit designed around a NOS Telefunken EF-732 tube and a custom output transformer that is an exact replica of the historic BV8 transformer, found in the historic U-47 and U-48 microphones
- The Telefunken EF-732 tube is very similar to the AC-701 tube in that it provides a "velvety" character to the overall tone of the microphone
- Remarkably hi-fidelity microphone with a "present" but not "harsh" character
