Product description The AK-47 MkII Tube Microphone Stereo Set from Telefunken is a matched stereo pair of the company's AK-47 condenser microphones. The AK-47 is a part of their acclaimed R-F-T series. The microphone features a large-diaphragm condenser element and a custom output transformer that borrows from the historic BV8 transformer found in the vintage U47 and U48 microphones. The AK-47's tube stage features a NOS "new old stock" Telefunken EF-732 vacuum tube, delivering pristine audio fidelity, low noise and vintage analog warmth. The AK-47 features omnidirectional, cardioid and figure-8 polar patterns with 6 intermediate stages for each pattern.With the AK-47 stereo set, you have the option of using stereo recording techniques that include X/Y coincidental pairs with the mics in cardioid, A/B spaced pairs with either cardioid or omnidirectional patterns, and also a Blumlein pair, with each mic in a figure-8 polar pattern. Designed for convenience, the set comes with a dual microphone-capable power supply included. Each component is hand selected and matched to allow for as close of a match between the two microphones in each system as possible. - Utilizes American-designed electronics in conjunction with NOS tubes and standardized parts
