Product description The DD5 Dynamic Drum Microphone Kit from Telefunken is designed to provide the tools you need for close miking a standard drum kit. The kit contains an M82 mic for kick drum, an M80-SH for snare drum, and three M81-SH mics for toms. Additionally, a metal kick-drum mount, four metal, and four plastic drum mounts are included to help with secure mic placement. To connect your drum mics to your recording source, five of Telefunken's SGMC-5R five-meter long right angle XLR cables are included.
While designed for drum applications, both the M82 and M80-SH mics are not uni-taskers and can also be used as vocal mics for studio or broadcast use. The included FC80 hardshell flight case can be used to store and transport the mics when not in use. - M82 Large Diaphragm Dynamic Microphone The M82 Large Diaphragm Dynamic Microphone from Telefunken is designed to capture kick drums and broadcast vocals and can also be used with general vocals, percussion, broadcast voice, guitar amplifiers, bass amplifiers, organ, and brass instruments. It has an end-address configuration, a 35mm diaphragm, and features two separate EQ switches, allowing you to tailor the microphone's response to your sound source. These two switches work independently of each other and can be used together or not at all.
The kick EQ switch engages a passive filter that reduces the lower mid-range frequencies centered around 350 Hz, commonly cut when processing a kick drum. This keeps your kick drum from sounding "boxy" and allows the low end to remain strong. The high boost switch tilts the upper mid-range and high frequencies, starting around 2 kHz, with a 6 dB boost by 10 kHz. For kick drum use, this offers more beater attack when placed inside of a kick drum. For a source such as vocals or guitar amps, the high boost provides further articulation and airiness in the upper register. - Dynamic transducer with cardioid polar pattern

It is designed for snare drum and vocal scenarios where a short microphone with a right angle XLR connection is required. The M80-SH features high SPL capabilities and a tight cardioid polar pattern with a subtle rise in the treble. The microphone is constructed with a nickel grill and includes a leather microphone bag, a microphone clip, and a 5 meter right-angle XLR cable.

The microphone rejects feedback, has a minimal proximity effect, and is suitable for tom drums and instrument applications where a shorter microphone is required. The M81-SH has a high SPL capability and features a tight cardioid polar pattern with a subdued treble for a flatter overall frequency response. The microphone is constructed with a nickel grill and includes a leather microphone bag, a microphone clip, and a 5 meter right-angle XLR cable.
