Product description Available for download, Three-Body Technology's Raindrop & Blade is a virtual instrument, one that puts a Chinese hammered dulcimer at your fingertips. It accomplishes a realistic timbre through five velocity layers with smooth transition between tones. This brings a more detailed and natural sound. Round-robin sampling is employed, ensuring that no two consecutive notes sound exactly the same. Throughout the sampling process, both the left hand and right hand were captured individually, to further bolster a realistic tone. You can control how the instrument switches between hands through three different Hand Exchange modes. Realistic dulcimer effects, such as tremolo, flicking, hammer revert, and more have been recorded. The instrument was recorded at both close and midrange distances to provide a realistic depth of field. You can adjust between the two ranges, and also blend in reverb for a more faraway sound. Stereo width can also be manipulated. A pattern library and a swath of presets will get you up and running quickly. Tailor the sound right from the instrument with EQ, compression, chorus, and delay. Custom impulse responses recorded from all over China are provided for a more evocative feeling. This software can operate within VST, AU, and AAX plug-in formats. - Fast Sample Engine
- A fast sample engine yields a high performance with direct-from-disk streaming
- Optimized Data Compression
- All 6208 samples only require just under 3GB of hard-drive space, without degradation of audio
- 5 Layers of Velocity
- STBT technology, which stands for Smooth Transition Between Tones, provides a natural sound and captures realistic performance details
- Left- & Right-Handed Samples
- Separately recorded left- and right-handed samples are available via three Hand Exchange modes, giving the software a more realistic, natural feeling
- Round-Robin Sampling
- The same pitch being played repeatedly is common with these instruments, so three to five round-robin hits were recorded for every velocity layer to bolster the feeling of a real, live instrument
- Tremolo
- Two velocity layers of tremolo samples have been recorded, alongside samples for tremolos in octaves and thirds
- Clean Mode
- Clean mode decays differently for harmonic and non-harmonic tones, allowing the virtual instrument to sound cleaner than its real-world counterpart
- Realistic Sonic Capture
- Tremolo, flicking, hammer revert, muting, and various noises have been captured to give the virtual instrument a more authentic feeling
- Ying Yang Button
- Switch between polar contrast feelings by pressing this button
- Depth of Sound Field
- Samples have been recorded from nearfield and midfield distances. A simulated far-field feeling can be achieved via reverb.
- Convolution Reverb
- The Great Wall, the Terracotta Army site, and other famous Chinese locales have been sampled for their IR responses and authenticity
- Pattern Library
- A pattern library with drag-and-drop MIDI implementation lets you quickly import authentic musical phrases into your project
- Presets
- Traditional and experimental presets are included
- Effects Included
- Compression, EQ, chorus, and ping-pong delay are all provided
