Product description The Tiffen Filter Wheel 1 Low Contrast 2 Glass Filter works by spreading light from the highlights to the shadowed and darker areas, leaving the bright areas of the image bright. The dark areas become lighter, enabling you to see more detail in the shadow areas. As there is no f-stop compensation, you will not overexpose any portion of the image. An old house with a covered porch? A tree shaded country road? Your model is in shade yet the surrounding venue is highlight-heavy... How can you save the image without blowing out your highlights?... Open the shadows! Hold the highlights! Tiffen Low Contrast filters are the answer! Note: Tiffen Low Contrast filters are available in grades from 1-5 with 5 having the greatest effect - This filter also creates a very slight flare or halation around hot spots and individual light sources - This feature is a useful effect
